The wedlock between two persons is a legal form for union as is written in the Constitution of Republic Bulgaria. One of the two halls for marriage ceremonies of Municipality Shumen is into Information centre of the monument � complex �The Founders of the Bulgarian State�. During the ceremony an employee from the Municipality is present, vested by the Mayor of Shumen.

Thirty days before the wedding the young couple fills in an application and a declaration about the wedlock in the City Hall � office room 216. The bride notes her wish to keep her family name; to accepte that one of her husband or to add his family name after her family name.

Necessary documents:
*declaration;
*identification cards;
*medical certificates which are valid only 30 days from the date of issue.
The medical certificates must have an exit number, a date and a seal of a place for health service provider.
*if they are not 18 years old, the young couple has to bring a permission of Regional Court.

The ceremony is about 20 min. long. We can hold the ceremony for cross nationality marriages in English, French and Russian.

Wedding rings, ritual glasses and an undorned bottle of champaigne have to be brought 10 min. before the ceremony.

We also offer a piano accompaniment; a choir with slav church songs, a possibility to hold the marriage outdoors: in the monument-complex, restaurants, the fortress of Shumen and any other place chosen by the bride and the groom. There are additional prices for these extra services.

If the young couple � the two persons are not Bulgarians their consulate prepares the documents and the Consul holds the wedlock..
